About the Course
The PADI Tec 40 course is your gateway into the world of technical diving — and the first level in the PADI TecRec program. Offered by Seawave Diving in Phuket, this course is designed for certified divers who are ready to take the next step beyond recreational no-stop limits and begin their journey into staged decompression diving.In this course, you'll learn how to plan and execute dives up to 40 meters with limited decompression, using air or nitrox and a deco cylinder with up to 50% oxygen to accelerate off-gassing. You'll also develop essential skills in gas management, emergency procedures, technical equipment setup, and team diving protocols.Training dives are conducted at some of Phuket’s deeper and most suitable sites for technical training, with full support from our experienced PADI TecRec instructors.For those wanting to advance even further, the Tec 40 course can be combined with Trimix training for exposure to helium-based breathing gases, offering a smoother transition to deeper, normoxic Tec diving.Whether you want to dive deeper, stay longer, or work toward full Trimix certification — Tec 40 with Seawave Diving is your first step into a new underwater world.
What you will learn
- Introduction to twinset or sidemount technical setups
- Gas labeling, marking, and management for deco gases
- Calculating SAC rate, turn pressures, and gas reserves
- Planning for bottom gas and decompression gas
- Using EANx up to 50% oxygen to accelerate deco Optional Trimix (Helium) Add-On
Requirements:
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
- PADI Enriched Air Diver
- PADI DEEP DIVER Minimum 30 logged dives (with 10 dives deeper than 30m)
- SIDEMOUNT Diver Optional
- Signed medical clearance within 12 months
- Minimum age: 18 years
